Two Seconds of Fame

I know some of you have requested seeing the film of our church Christmas concert. In lieu of that, I am providing this little tidbit, which is of much better quality.

Here is a brief history.

Snow white was contacted for an audition for a commercial. They were looking for NASCAR fans and members of a pit crew. Hey, I like racing and I have helped out a couple of guys at the local track in the past. Maybe I could go too. We asked the agent and she said "Why not?"

To make a long story short, I tried out for this commercial (my first by the way) and got cast as a principal actor. Snow white also got cast as an extra so we got to do something together, just as father and daughter. It was a great day. They fed us and I got to hang out with some others who were like real actor types. I got to meet Tony Stewart too.

You may have seen this, but I'm sure you didn't know it me you were looking at. I show up at the 0:24 mark, as Tony Stewart is lifting the barbell. I am directly behind him throwing my fists in the air.

  1. Your blog loads really slow for me and maybe other readers. I can't see anything! You should check it with a speed test and make sure it's okay. I'm 7mb down / 499k up.

  2. I watched it just fine, several times. I must say, when I saw the video screen, I jumped up and got me a bowl of peppermint ice cream, anicipating a nice Christmasw choral solo and chorus! So, I'm disappointed for me, but happy for you. Congratulations on your acting debut.

  6. I'm sorry but I would prefer the concert. Your part was just too small.

  7. How cool! I bet that was a lot of fun. My fam is big on the racing stuff. My brother is good friends with #11. I went to my first race this past spring. It was awesome.

  8. That's awesome! My husband is usually working the races in Richmond as a firefighter in the pits. He gets to meet the driver that's in his pit whenever he does that. Funny thing is that he isn't into racing at all until he's working it and then he has a great time! And even better is the paycheck that he hands over to me afterwards ;o)

  9. Did you get your actors guild card? I hear Tom Hanks is looking for some fresh blood! Just kidding! That had to be so exciting! Especially when you are watching TV and it come on! Cool, I feel like I met a STAR!

  10. While I am thrilled to now know someone 'in the business', you're not getting off the hook that easy!
